Finding solutions for childhood food insecurity

Childhood Food Solutions & New Fidelity Productions team up to feed the children this holiday season!

Cincinnati, Ohio, December 14, 2010 – New Fidelity Productions is proud to announce the release of The Holiday Sessions: Music In Support of Kidsfed.org. The album, a seasonal compilation involving Cincinnati musicians, benefits the children of local low-income families by extending area school-lunch programs to the days when school is not in session. You can download the Holiday Sessions by making a donation of any amount to Childhood Food Solutions at:
http://childhoodfoodsolutions.org/donate.html.

The album features new recordings of both original and well-known holiday songs performed by Cincinnati-area favorites like Whitney B (featuring Chris Walker), Messerley and Ewing, Lucky Spaulding, Holly Spears and the Cliftones.  With a total of 12 songs, The Holiday Sessions spans multiple genres, including jazz, funk, reggae, folk, country, rock and others.

Childhood Food Solutions (CFS) was founded in 2007 to address childhood food insecurity in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Low-income students receive free breakfast and lunch at school but their families are often dependent on early-month government support and money runs out before the month ends so CFS focuses on providing food for late-month weekends and school breaks. It helps:

A boy says he hides his CFS food in his backpack because his mother’s boyfriend would eat it. The food “keeps my belly from hurting.”

About 130 students have gone from “Can’t read and/or can’t do math” to “Can read and/or can do math.”

“My daughter is doing much better in school. She finished her third grade reading test so early that her teacher was worried she couldn’t do it—not so—my daughter achieved proficiency!”

New Fidelity Productions has offered music and commercial production in the Cincinnati-area for nearly ten years. This is the third year that New Fidelity has partnered with CFS in the hope of providing area children with food security.
